The role of working women has changed throughout the world due to economic conditions and social demands.This has resulted in a scenario in which working women have tremendous pressure to develop a career as robust as their male counterparts while sustaining active engagement in personal life.The ever-increasing work pressure is taking a toll on the working women leaving them with less time for themselves.The increasing responsibilities on the personal front with the technological blessings like advanced mobile phones,notepads,etc.that keeps work life integrated wit h personal life also creates stress on personal and professional fronts in this knowledge age.This affects the person‘s physical,emotional and social well-being.Thus,achieving work life balance is a necessity for working women to have a good quality of life.This paper is an attempt to explore the tough challenges faced by working women in maintaining a balance between their personal and professional life.The various factors such as – Job involvement,role stress,management support,co-worker support and family support affecting the work-life balance of married working women have been examined in this study.Additionally,the moderating effects of Public Policy Perception on along with the above mentioned variables on the work family conflict have been studied.Public Policy has the potential to influence wide array of stakeholders.Although Public Policy initiatives can serve multitude of objectives,the main goal is the improvement of human welfare.Since,public sphere is becoming crucial for successful governance therefore Public Policy research must cater to dimension of Public Perception.Through efficacious Public Policies,government can create value for p ublic and can enhance public welfare.Several factors have convoluted India‘s Public Policy challenges,for example,huge population,demographic diversity,infrastructure,poverty,pollution,corruption are few to mention.These circumstances hamper effic ient and effect implementation and evaluation of Public Policy.Moreover,since the basic tenant of Public Policy is human welfare,therefore the public perception about policy initiatives holds vital significance for all stakeholders.A closer look at Public Policy initiatives reveals that public perception has significant importance in determining efficacy of the policy initiative.Data were subjected to statistical analysis and it was found that there is significant relation between work family conflict and Job involvement,role stress,managerial support and work family support.Co-worker support is found to be statistically insignificant both with and without moderator.
