The ability of imagination as a self to create a new image in the mind has became one of the essential qualities of talents in the 21 st century. It can encompass everything, generate new knowledge, and promote social renewal. At present,Chinese children lack imagination. The International Education Progress Assessment Organization surveyed21 countries around the world and found that Chinese children ranked first in computing power, ranked last in imagination, and fifth in creativity.Among Chinese primary school students, only about 5% think that they are curious and imaginative.Through the feedback on the interviews of the first-line teachers in the primary school, the primary school students will become more and less enriched as the grades increase. However, there are few studies on the actual situation of the imagination level of primary school students and the improvement of their imagination level. Therefore,it is of great practical significance to carry out research on the current level of imagination of primary schoolstudents and to effectively improve the imagination of primary school students. The picture book is a book that combines pictures and texts to tell the whole story together. It has a natural advantage as a tool for imagination improvement. Its bundant picture enhances the curiosity and desire of children in exploring the content of the story, and there are many blank parts, which greatly increase the tendency of exploration, thus enhancing the imagination of children. In addition, based on the theory of preventive development of reading therapy, the interaction between readers and literary works can promote changes in personal cognition, attitudes and behaviors, thus achieving a good level of development. Therefore, based on the overall investigation of the imagination level of middle and high grade pupils, this study further developed edpractical imagination training from the picture book. The purpose of this study is to understand the current level of imagination of middle and high grade pupils and to explore the effect of drawing on the imagination of middle and high grade pupils. The students in grades 3—6 are sampled and the evaluation of Williams' creativity is biased. The imaginary dimension test in the table is a research tool.Mainly divided into two studies:To study the current situation of the imagination of a pair of middle and high grade pupils,it is found that the current level of imagination ofmiddle and high grade pupils is close to the average of the test itself, and there are some significant differences in the level of imagination in different grades. The level of imagination in the fifth grade is significantly higher than that in the third grade, and the level of imagination in the fourth grade is significantly higher than that in the sixth grade.Based on the Study 1,the research 2 randomly selected two classes of students with similar demographic variables and similar levels of imagination as the subjects in the third year.As an attempt of this study, the subjects were randomly assigned to the experimental group and In the control group. The number of participants in each group was 38 and 37,respectively.The experimental group participated in a 9-week imaginative training course based on imaginative picture books. The control group led the students to freely read extracurricular literary works. The results of the study showed that the imagination of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group. This study proposes school education and future research based on research findings and discussions.
