Research On Female Students Abroad Of Modern Times In Jiangsu

Modern women studying abroad are an important part of the history of studying abroad in modern China.Jiangsu province has a superior geographical location,a solid cultural heritage and a developed education system,which has laid a good foundation for women to study abroad.Therefore,the number of female students studying abroad in modern Jiangsu is relatively higher than that of other provinces.Although the number of female students studying abroad in modern Jiangsu is far less than the number of male students studying abroad,these female students have made positive contributions in the development of modern Jiangsu and modern China.Regrettably,most of them are ignored.Therefore,this study conducts a preliminary exploration of modern Jiangsu female students abroad,in order to further enrich the study of Chinese modern women's study abroad history.Based on the above considerations,this paper takes the group of Jiangsu female students abroad as the research object,and conducts special research and discussion on it.First of all,the concept and selection criteria of "Jiangsu Female Students Abroad in Modern Times" were explained,and on this basis,the table of "Jiangsu Female Students Abroad in Modern Times" was compiled.The analysis of female students in modern Jiangsu before going abroad,studying abroad,and returning to China is the basis for the research.Secondly,this paper makes a detailed statistical analysis of the background of Jiangsu female students studying abroad,sums up the characteristics of this special group in terms of birthplace,education,time of going abroad and age abroad,and etc.,and analyze the reasons why Jiangsu women go abroad.Thirdly,this paper also focuses on the study abroad process of female students,analyzing the countries in which they study abroad,the school they are attending,the years they have studied,the degree they have obtained,etc.,and pays attention to the study life of female students during their study abroad.Fourth,it sorts out the contributions made by Jiangsu female students and analyzes the influence of female students on the development of modern Jiangsu and modern China.This paper analyzes the data of 228 modern Jiangsu female students studying abroad.It is found that in terms of time,the number of students studying abroad in the late Qing Dynasty fluctuated greatly,while in the Republic of China,it was relatively stable.From the perspective of studying abroad,studying in Japan,The United States is predominant.Among them,the number of Japanese residents not only surpassed the United States in the late Qing Dynasty,but also far surpassed the United States between 1929 and 1942;most of the girls studying abroad came from the southern part of Jiangsu;In terms of academic background,the late Qing Dynasty was biased towards humanities and social sciences such as literature and art,education,and history,and received less degrees.In the Republic of China,more emphasis was placed on natural sciences such as physics,chemistry,and medicine,and master's and doctoral degrees were obtained.Therefore,in terms of occupation,although female students still use teachers as their main employment choices,high-education female students in the Republic of China are more likely to work in colleges and universities,and their achievements are even greater.
