The Beijing Winter Olympics is a world-renowned sports event and an important channel for China to show its economy, capability and image to the world. The National Alpine Skiing Center is the first place in China to hold the top international alpine skiing events. With the relative lack of experience in top-level alpine skiing events in China, hosting a high-quality and high-level alpine skiing event will be a great challenge for China. The well operation of alpine skiing venues will be one of the keys to the success of the alpine skiing events in the Winter Olympic Games. Therefore,a prospective study on the operational risk of alpine skiing venues in the 2022 Winter Olympic Games will undoubtedly be of great significance to the success of the events. In this paper, literature, interviews, field visits and mathematical statistics are used to analyze and construct the operational risk management framework of alpine skiing venues for the Winter Olympic Games by using risk management theory. On the basis of introducing the general situation of the National Alpine Skiing Center and combing the alpine skiing risk events of the previous Winter Olympic Games, this paper identifies and evaluates the operational risk of the alpine skiing venues of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games, and puts forward the risk responding measures,in order to provide some references for the well operation of the alpine skiing venues of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games, and then confirms the 2022 Winter Olympics alpine skiing event being held smoothly. The conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)There are four main types of risks in the operation of alpine skiing venues in 2022 Winter Olympic Games. They are personnel risk(including competition management team, mountain operation team and customer group),facilities and equipment risk(including site construction, supporting facilities operation and site equipment management),logistics risk(including ticketing, protocol and services, security, health and medical)and external environmental risks(including natural, economic, political and social).(2)According to the analytic hierarchy process(AHP)and the list ranking method, the operational risk of the alpine skiing venues of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games is evaluated. The results show that the personnel risk is the most important risk factor in the four kinds of risks, the customer group risk is the most important risk factor in the personnel risk, and the first ranking of the personnel risk is the personal safety of the athletes. The most important risk of facilities and equipment is site construction risk.Snow track maintenance ranks first among facilities and equipment risk. The most important logistic risk is security risk. The first logistic risk ranking is personnel safety(security inspection,escort,etc.).The most important external environmental risk is natural risk. The first external environmental risk ranking is non-natural disasters(heavy snow, strong wind or low temperature and other factors affecting outdoor competition weather).(3)The operation of the alpine skiing venues for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games is led by the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, directed by the venue operation center, executed by all departments of the National Alpine Skiing Center and the organizing team of the alpine skiing competition. At present, the risk management of the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee is mainly by way of commissioned purchase, and no special risk management organization has been set up yet.In order to avoid risks better during the operation of alpine skiing venues in 2022 Winter Olympic Games, this paper puts forward the following suggestions:(1)Establishing a risk management team.(2)Make daily operation plan.(3)Pay attention to the training of mountain operation team.(4)Strengthen the maintenance of facilities and equipment.(5)Monitoring meteorological changes.(6)Preparing emergency plans.(7)Establishing a risk management guarantee system.(8)Purchase of insurance services.
