Children's sense of belonging in class refers to a kind of emotional connection established between children and their classes in the course of long-term interaction and communication, which is manifested in three aspects: individual's cognition, emotional attitude and behavioral expression of this relationship. It is specifically divided into four dimensions: class interaction,self-experience,class identity and the tendency to mutual assistance.Class is the place where children have the longest and closest contact time in their daily life.It is the second warm "home" for children after they walk out of their family life.In the class,Children's interaction with teachers and peers constitute the main theme of their kindergarten life, and also becomes an important source of children's sense of belonging to the class.Based on the analysis and collation of literature, combined with the results of open-ended interview,a questionnaire on children's sense of belonging in middle and large classes was compiled in strict accordance with the principles and procedures of psychological tests. The questionnaire was used as a research tool to explore the status quo of children's sense of belonging in middle and large classes, from gender, grade and independence. From the perspective of children, this paper explores the characteristics of children's sense of belonging in middle and large classes, and puts forward targeted training suggestions accordingly. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The questionnaire on children's sense of belonging in middle and large classes compiled in this study contains four dimensions, namely, class interaction, class identity,self-experience and tendency to help each other. There are 20 items in the questionnaire.Through analysis, the questionnaire has good reliability and validity.(2)Children in middle and large classes have a higher sense of class belonging, with a total score of 88.86±10.63(full score of 100),which is on the upper middle level. The scores of each factor ranged from 4.35 to 4.50,with the highest score of class identity, followed by the tendency to help each other, class interaction and self-experience.It shows that class identity plays a major role in the structure of preschool children's sense of belonging.(3)There are gender and grade differences in children's sense of class belonging.Girls' sense of belonging in class is higher than boys' and children's sense of belonging in middle class is significantly higher than that in large class.(4)The middle class is an important period for the development of children's sense of belonging.(5)There is no significant difference in the sense of class belonging between only-child and non-only-child.
