Biology competition is an important way to discover and cultivate new talents.It not only enriches biology teaching activities,but also improves the abilities and qualities of students in all aspects,especially the ability to acquire and use knowledge.Therefore,there are many similarities between the development of biological competition and the cultivation of core literacy,which is worth paying attention to and studying.Due to the lack of public awareness of competition,there are many controversies about biology competition.This paper introduces the specific implementation of biology contest,investigates and studies the role of biology contest in the development of students' key competence.In order to better achieve the purpose of the research,a practical investigation was carried out in Affiliated Middle School of Henan Normal University.The teaching,learning,training,examination and evaluation aspects of competition teaching were tracked and investigated.The differences between competition teaching and general college entrance examination teaching modes were intuitively perceived,and then analyze the role of competition teaching in the development of students' key competence.Taking the past contestants and coaches as the research objects,this paper evaluates the role of competition teaching in cultivating students' comprehensive quality from multiple perspectives by means of personal interviews and questionnaires.The same questionnaire was used to investigate the athletes at different stages.The answers reflected the changes of their thinking and psychology with the deepening of competition teaching,which showed the role of competition teaching in cultivating students' comprehensive ability and developing students' core literacy.The research finds that both the competition teaching and the college entrance examination teaching attach importance to the understanding of the knowledge itself and the cultivation of the ability to use knowledge,but there are differences in the teaching,learning,practice,examination and evaluation of the two links.By contrast,the competition teaching can promote students' ability to acquire knowledge and use knowledge.Because of the heavy task and difficulty of competitive learning,teachers tend to teach in frameworks in more cases,and details are mostly completed by students after class.This greatly improves students' core qualities such as induction and generalization based on biological facts,deductive reasoning,exploration and interpretation of life phenomena and laws.Through self-correcting errors,peer-to-peer study and solution to difficult problems,grasp scientific inquiry ideas and methods.And more and more willing to teamwork,innovative.In many aspects,the key competence of students has been developed in all directions.This research went deep into the daily teaching of biology contest in senior high school.Through discovering the difference between competition teaching and college entrance examination teaching,it provides supporting evidence and research ideas for the reform and development of education.Through investigation,it affirms the positive role of high school biology contest in developing students' key competence,expands the scope of research on core literacy,adds factual basis for theoretical analysis of the role of biology contest in developing students' core literacy,and helps people to understand and evaluate more scientifically,comprehensively and objectively the important role and significance of biology contest and competition in developing students' key competence.
