Work engagement is an active and full working state,which is characterized by the combination of vitality,concentration and dedication.As an important indicator of employees' mental state at work,work engagement has a positive impact on employees' psychological health,subjective well-being and other life-level factors,as well as work performance,organizational commitment,turnover intention and other work factors.Preschool teachers are the driving force for the vigorous development of preschool education.Their level of work engagement is directly related to their own education and teaching effectiveness and professional development.Preschool teachers' high level of work engagement is the protection of children's life safety and the guarantee of life and learning quality.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to pay attention to and improve the work engagement of preschool teachers.Calling is a frontier subject of positive psychology and positive organizational behavior.Recently,the relationship between calling and work engagement become one of the key points in this research field,and has made a series of achievements.Previous studies have shown that calling has a positive impact on work engagement.However,the influence mechanism of calling on work engagement is still unclear.Previous studies have mostly investigated single factors,lacking systematicness and comprehensiveness,and paying less attention to the subjective assessment of individual psychological resources and organizational environment.Therefore,it is necessary to deepen the research on the impact mechanism of calling on work engagement from a multivariate perspective,such as trying to add two variables of psychological capital and psychological empowerment,to reveal the specific influence path of calling on work engagement.Based on previous research and related theories,this study intends to explore the internal mechanism between preschool teachers' calling on work engagement,focusing on the chain intermediary effects of psychological capital and psychological empowerment.The study used the questionnaire survey method to investigate 457 preschool teachers from 16 kindergartens in J City,Hubei province.The data processing was accomplished by SPSS 23.0 and the SPSS process written by Hayes(2013).The results show that calling has a significant overall effect on work engagement,and it can directly and positively affect work engagement.When put psychological capital and psychological empowerment,calling has a significant predictive effect on work engagement,and the chain-mediating effect of psychological capital and psychological empowerment is significant.This study draws the following conclusions:(1)In terms of calling,preschool teachers have significant differences in teaching age and education background;in terms of psychological capital,preschool teachers have significant differences in marriage and age;in terms of psychological empowerment,preschool teachers have significant differences in teaching age,education background and establishment;in terms of work engagement,preschool teachers have significant differences in marriage,age and teaching age.(3)Preschool teachers' calling has a significant positive effect on work engagement.(4)Preschool teachers' calling can affect the level of work engagement through the influence of psychological capital.(5)Preschool teachers' calling can affect the level of work engagement through the influence of psychological empowerment.(6)Preschool teachers' calling can influence work engagement by influencing psychological capital,then psychological empowerment,that is,psychological capital ? psychological empowerment plays a chain intermediary role between preschool teachers' professional calling and work engagement.Finally,this study puts forward some suggestions that benefit the work engagement of preschool teachers,clarifies the theoretical and practical value of this study,and at the same time reflects on the limitations of this study and on this basis,and puts forward ideas for future research.
