The aging of population is the inevitable result of the development of human society.Many countries in the world have entered the aging society.According to the statistics of the office of the Aging Working Committee of China,at the end of 2017,the population aged 60 and above was about 240 million,accounting for 17.3% of the total population;the population aged 65 and above was 158.31 million,accounting for 11.4%of the total population(Office of China Working Committee on aging,2019).[[]] with the rapid growth of the elderly population,the quality of life of the elderly is facing many challenges.Many elderly people choose to enter the nursing home to enjoy their old age.However,after leaving the company and care of their families and children,the elderly slowly grow up with some bad psychological problems.We must pay attention to the physical and mental health of the elderly at present.The function of Taijiquan to improve the physical and mental health of the elderly has been well known.Based on the physical characteristics of the elderly in the nursing home,the eight Style Taijiquan with simple movements has become the first choice for many elderly people to exercise and keep fit.Moreover,the eight Style Taijiquan inherits the essence of the traditional Yang Taijiquan and extracts eight basic and classic moves of the Yang Taijiquan It has become a new set of boxing,which retains the original superb skills and fitness effects of Taijiquan,and is comprehensive,simple and easy to learn.In this paper,60 elderly people were randomly divided into two groups,Taiji group and control group,30 in each group.According to the training plan,a professional coach will lead the students to do eight Style Taijiquan Exercises for 12 weeks,four times a week and 60 minutes each time.According to the theory and action points of Taijiquan,this paper takes the effect of eight Style Taijiquan Exercise on depression,sleep quality,interpersonal communication,well-being,cognitive level and other aspects of the elderly as the main research content,and uses literature,questionnaire measurement,experimental intervention,mathematical statistics,expert interviews and other research methods to conduct investigation and research,in-depth analysis of the eight Style Taijiquan Exercise on the elderly This paper discusses the influence of Taijiquan on the elderly in five aspects: depression,sleep quality,interpersonal communication,well-being,cognition,etc.,explores the fitness effect of Taijiquan in the spiritual aspect,expands the new perspective of the research on the eight Style Taijiquan and the elderly's mental health,supplements more theoretical support on the eight Style Taijiquan and the elderly's mental health,and researches for later scholars The research provides more theoretical basis.At the same time,it provides scientific fitness guidance for people to promote the eight Style Taijiquan,attracts more people to participate in the eight Style Taijiquan exercise,provides the factual basis for the future research,and has certain practical significance for the development,promotion and popularization of the eight Style Taijiquan in the elderly.According to the research content,the following conclusions are drawn:1.When practicing the eight Style Taijiquan,we should keep the mind calm and body relaxed.People will gradually get rid of depression,form an optimistic and positive attitude,improve their spirit and attitude towards life,and reduce the risk of depression.2.Eight Style Taijiquan exercise can improve the sleep quality of the elderly,increase sleep time,reduce sleep disorders,and improve the overall sleep effect of the elderly.3.Eight Style Taijiquan exercise can improve the level of interpersonal communication of the elderly,expand the contact between the elderly and the outside world,increase the opportunities of communication between the elderly,and make the elderly have the ability of emotion regulation and social adaptation.4.Eight Style Taijiquan exercise can improve the happiness index of the elderly,increase their satisfaction and interest in life,increase their happy mood,reduce their tension and worry about their health,so that the elderly can more actively face their life in old age.
