Currently,China has become one of the most ideal Asia destinations to study abroad and also attracts a huge number of international students,specifically Vietnamese students.During the study period in China,Vietnamese students have to undergo cross-cultural adaptations.With the increased number of Vietnamese students studying in China,the problem of cross-cultural adaptation,especially learning adaptation are becoming more and more serious.In the field of study on cross-cultural adaptation,cultural intelligence has become an important part and this variable can be used to observe international students' adaptation to external changes and their ability of self-adjustment in the different cultural environments.This study explores the impact of cultural intelligence on international students' a cross-cultural learning adaptation.It is expected that the conclusions of the study be used as a theoretical basis,and provide some practical suggestions for the difficulty of learning adaptation in Vietnamese students studying and adapting in China,from the perspective of cultural intelligence.In this study,questionnaire survey and qualitative research method are used to study the impact of cultural intelligence on learning adaptations of Vietnamese students studying in China.Participants include Vietnamese students including undergraduate and graduate students,Ph.D students,exchange students from all over the colleges and universities.Cultural Intelligence Scale(CIS)and Learning Adaptation Scale are used to explore the connection between cultural intelligence and learning adaptation of foreign students studying in China.The demographic variables are explored and discussed.Prepared factors including before occupation,including training,understanding levels about colleges or universities,etc are also considered.At the same time,5 participants are interviewed to better understand their studying difficulties,and to find out the influence of cultural intelligence on learning adaptation,which implements the results of study.This study helps Vietnamese students find out the study obstacles and as the result,it proposes the improving ways and solutions to address difficulties and to enhance study adaptation.The conclusion are as follows.(1)The level of cultural intelligence of Vietnamese students is above average.Moreover,behavioral-cultural intelligence reached the highest point and metacognitive cultural intelligence handled the slowest point.Vietnamese students have above-average learning adaptation abilities.Teaching adaptation reached a relatively high score and active learning adaptation have a relatively low score.(2)The cultural intelligence of foreign students and learning adaptation have a strong positive relation.The higher ability of cultural intelligence,the higher ability of learning adaptation.Among all affecting dimensions,the relation between metacognitive cultural intelligence and exchange learning adaptation is the most significant.(3)The Chinese-language ability have significant moderating effect on cultural intelligence and learning adaptation.When the Chinese-language ability is enhanced,the influence of cultural intelligence on learning adaptation is significant.
