With the aggravation of the aging degree of Chinese society and the rapid development of information technology, the position, the position of the elderly population in the information society, the adoption behavior and its impact have become an important research topic in China today.Through in-depth interviews with30 elderly people,it is found that under the new media environment, the elderly have a tendency to catch up with The Times in terms of access gap,but there is still a big gap with the young group in terms of WeChat use and media literacy. The function range and involvement depth of the elderly using Wechat are relatively limited. The study also found that in the learning process of the elderly, the phenomenon of device feedbacks from children is widespread, while cultural feedbacks are relatively weak.To some extent, the phenomenon of child feedbacks reflects the flow and redistribution of family power and role in the context of new media. The use of Wechat has changed some intergenerational communication behaviors between the elderly and their children.Wechat has increasingly become the main tool of intergenerational communication and communication. It has played a role in increasing the frequency of contact and topics, and to a certain extent,is conducive to enhancing the emotional intimacy between the elderly and their children. However, purely as a tool,WeChat can change the place, time and frequency of intergenerational communication, but it does not create a new intergenerational communication mode in essence. The family intergenerational communication conducted by the elderly through WeChat is still a continuation of the traditional intergenerational communication mode online.
