Study On Castells Cyberspace Theory

Space is the material foundation of human social life and the product of social practice.According to Marx,human social activities cannot be separated from space.With the rapid development of network communication technology in the 21 st century,humans have entered the era of network and information.The arrival of the information society has changed people's production and lifestyle,and created a new social form—the network society,which is different from the previous industrial society.Under this social form,subversive changes have taken place in the form of social space,manifested by the rise of "network society" and the formation of "network space".Castells was aware of this change.Based on Lefebvre's theory of space production,he turned people's attention from space to cyberspace,and put forward the famous cyberspace theory.He specifically analyzed the rise of the network society and the formation of cyberspace.He believes that cyberspace is the spatial expression of network society,a networked and structured spatial form composed of nodes and cores,and explores the generation logic of cyberspace from the perspective of capital,power and ideology;he believes that cyberspace is composed of elites Culture,popular culture,space of flows and space of places are interconnected and conflicting global space logic,and analyze the impact of cyberspace on all aspects of human society's production and life on specific issues such as social identity and the rise of global cities.Combining theory with reality,Castells showed people how information,technology,networks and other elements penetrate and change the form of social operation and create new spaces.The main content of this article is divided into the following parts: First,a basic introduction to Castells' s network social theory,with the background of informatization and globalization to analyze the network society and its essence;On this basis,specifically discuss the relationship between network society,space and cyberspace,and the logical embodiment of cyberspace;and then explore the generation and operation mechanism of cyberspace theory and the social challenges it brings,and analyze the problems existing in today's social formation,especially theissue of social identity;Finally,through the specific expressions such as metropolises,further analyze the true meaning of cyberspace for our real life.In light of social realities,consider how to use cyberspace theory to meet current global challenges,realize a community of shared destiny in cyberspace,and shape a new cyberspace order.
