As an emerging computing model,fog computing extends cloud computing services to the edge of network,which can make up for the deficiencies of traditional cloud-only models in terms of latency,network bandwidth,mobility,etc.There is a great opportunity for fog computing to make a positive difference for big data application demands of Internet of Things.Based on the research of the OpenFog Standard Architecture,a simulator was designed to model IoT and Fog environments,and we defined the fog layer as a distributed computing paradigm.To this end,we designed and implemented some key modules of the simulator,the leader election module,the failure detector module based on PUSH heartbeat protocol and fog node energy module.This paper described a case to demonstrate the simulator implementation and to show how the key modules work.Due to resource limitation of fog nodes,the paper proposed a fog computing resource allocation scheme to improve utilization of system resource and to reduce latency.The proposed resource allocation method is based on simulated annealing algorithm to reduce service latency.Simulation results demonstrates that the simulated annealing algorithm has a good performance on service latency.In the paper,a simulator was designed to model IoT and Fog environment.The resource allocation model and heuristic algorithm are proposed to optimize service latency.Compared to the random allocation solution,the method mentioned in the paper has a better performance on service latency.
