At present,library is in a trasitional period.Under the new paradigm,libraries must constantly adapt to meet the user needs and the environmental changes.Discipline services have been introduced to China for many years but developed slowly,the unilateral power of library and subject librarian is limited,and it is urgent to find a breakthrough point for the work.Discipline services(DS)are increasingly concerned about the abilities of knowledge collaboration,service innovation,and in-depth practice.Innovation and transformation are important concepts of the library.Open innovation is an effective means to enhance attraction,User participation(UP)is an important driving force for service innovation.User and UP are as known concepts directly used to improve user satisfaction and library service quality.In-depth study of user participation mechanisms(UPM)can bring us new thinking.Response to the above problems,this artical used experimental methods,literature research methods,interview research methods,observation research methods,and questionnaire survey methods to explore the UPM,the library LibGuides subject service platform is taken as an example to focus on the following studies:The first is to carry on the current situation research of the subject service platform,to understand the construction and application of the subject service platform in the domestic universities,and the UP status;The second is to construct the UP level based on the middle-level theory,define the UP concept,identify UP roles,realize the deduction of the UP degree and the UP dimensions,and lay a theoretical foundation for revealing the UPM;The third is to deduce the UPM,observe the changes of the user roles,and take the corresponding incentive measures to promote the UP level from lower to higher;The forth is to analysis the experimental results,to discuss the differentiation influence of user satisfaction and continuous use intention at different participation levels.This artical based on the empirical study of S library's Libguides subject service platform,we established the libguides discussion group at November 2017,observed and investigated the participation status of the participants,and conducted field interviews with them.Based on this,the author combined the middle-level theory to compile the UP measurement scale.According to the previous theoretical derivation results,the evolution of UP degree(low,medium,and high)was gradually advanced through three experiments,and obtains the following conclusions:(1)Constructing user participation dimensions.The user participation mainly includes three measurement dimensions:cognition,emotion,and behavior.Participation behavior is embodied by three sub-dimensions of information acquisition,information sharing,and value co-creation.Different measurement dimensions represent different participation levels.Information acquisition is the basic behavior of users,and also is the low participation;Information sharing manifests the user's active behavior,which is the moderate participation.Value co-creation requires the user's physical or intellectual investment,which affects or even determines the quality of services to a certain extent,and it is the highly participation.(2)Establishing the UPM of the discipline service platform.The library utilizes the discipline service platform to promote the evolution of UP level from low to high,realize the transition from content services to process services.The library has played an active role in the entire process,from attracting users to generate service awareness,and to guiding them to obtain information,then promoting users to share information in feedback interactions,and finally providing users with creative opportunities,establishing cooperative relationships,and achieving value co-creation.(3)User satisfaction increasing with user participation level increasing.Through the comparison of averages,correlation analysis and correlation sample t-test,the results of the three experiments were analyzed and compared.The experimental results can basically reflect the trend of the user satisfaction increasing with user participation.The research process and results provide a strong basis for the strategic design of the discipline service platform,adding confidence to promote the discipline service.
