The filament is a phenomenon of solar activity without a fixed shape.Its chirality affects the direction of rotation of the solar magnetic field and is closely related to the eruption of the CME.The main problem in the existing methods for identifying filament and chirality is that the use of the number relationship of left and right barb in the filament to determine the chirality of the filament will result in a decrease in the accuracy of recognition.There will be cases where the filament and the chiral leakage is recognized.In this paper,the following aspects of research work have been carried out to identify the problems existing in the chirality of the filament.Firstly,the filament is automatically detected.(1)Combining image scaling,standard deviation normalization,image denoising,removing uneven illumination and exponential transformation,the image is preprocessed to enhance the detectability of image related information.(2)Edge detection and image morphology operations are used to extract solar activity areas.(3)By calculating the eccentricity of each region,the extracted solar activity regions are screened to obtain the solar filament.Secondly,The filament main spine and barb are automatically recognized.This paper uses the idea of block-based to identify the major spine and glitch image of the filament.Using the characteristics of the filament barb bone image,the bone image with only the barb image part is automatically segmented to identify the barb image,and a partial spindle image of the filament barb is obtained.Thirdly,the filaments are automatically recognized by chirality.The polymorphism of the barb causes the traditional method to identify the chirality of the filament.The criterion for judging the chirality of the filament is too single to accurately obtain the chirality of the filament.In this paper,we believe that the number of left and right barbs of the filament,the angle between the major spine and the barb and the area of the barb are all important factors affecting the chirality of the sun and a method for judging the chirality of the filament based on the weighting method.Fourthly,experiments were carried out on image data using the methods,literature methods and manual recognition methods and the results were compared.The accuracy of the method to identify the chirality of the filament is higher than that of the literature method and the chirality distribution of the solar filament identified in this paper is consistent with the chiral hemisphere rule of the filament.On the whole,the main research and work of this paper are as follows:(1)In the automatic detection process of the filament,the method of calculating the eccentricity is used to remove the redundant features.(2)In the process of identifying the filament main spine and barb,the method of block identification is used.(3)Add more factors affecting the chirality of the filament to the chiral identification of the filament and propose a method to weight the chirality of the filament.According to the experimental results,the proposed method improves the recognition rate of the filament chirality in the literature method.It is more suitable for recognizing the chirality of filament with equal left and right spines.And provides reliable support for studying filament activity,geophysical effects of solar activity and solar magnetic field.
