In recent years,acrylic acid high water absorbent resin has developed into a new functional polymer material,which not only has strong water absorption capacity,but also has high water retention capacity,but there are also some shortcomings,such as poor salt tolerance,low gel strength and high price.The potassium humate can stimulate the growth of crops,promote the development of the roots and improve the soil fertility.The attapulgite clay can not only reduce the production cost,but also improve the gel strength and thermal stability of the resin.A super absorbent resin with low cost and high performance is expected to be prepared by compounding modified potassium acrylate and attapulgite clay.In this paper,a solution polymerization method was used to prepare potassium humate/attapulgite/polyacrylic acid composite absorbent resin by using partial neutralization acrylic acid as monomer,attapulgite as mineral filler,potassium humate as organic filler.The influence of attapulgite clay and potassium humate on the polymerization process was discussed.The effects of attapulgite clay,potassium humic acid,crosslinking agent on the water absorption,salt absorption and thermal stability of the composite absorbent resin were studied.The structure of the composite resin was characterized by FTIR and TG.The addition of the attapulgite clay improves the polymerization rate,and makes the crosslinking degree of the composite high water absorption resin larger.Some palygorskite clay is grafted with polyacrylic acid,and the remaining attapulgite clay is found in the resin by physical filling.Proper addition of attapulgite clay can effectively improve the gel strength,thermal stability and reusability of composite absorbent resin.Potassium humate can reduce the polymerization rate of composite resin,and combine potassium humate with attapulgite to control crosslinking degree of absorbent resin.The interaction between potassium humate and attapulgite clay is beneficial to increase the water absorbency of composite absorbent resin.The water absorbency and water absorption rate of the three-element composite absorbent resin are better than that of the simple polyacrylic acid absorbent resin.At the same time the salt resistance and gel strength of the absorbent resin are obviously improved.The results of repeated experiments showed that the first three times of water absorption of composite absorbent resin increased successively,and the water absorption effect was still good when repeated use.
