As the consumption of fossil fuel resources and increasing attention about the destruction of environment,the strong motivation is devoted for exploring new renewable feedstocks and sustainable measures for the production of energy and chemicals.In addition to fossil fuel,the biomass is the only carbon source that is widely available.HMF includes 4-HMF and 5-HMF.5-HMF can be used to prepare 2,5-furandicarbaldehyde(DFF),5-hydroxymethyl decanoic acid(HMFCA),2,5-furancarboxylic acid(FDCA)and 2,5-dimethylfuran(DMF).4-HMF can be used to prepare 2,4-furan dimethanol and 2,4-dimethylfuran(2,4-DMF),and can also be used to synthesize cantharidin.Most importantly,4-HMF and 5-HMF are important precursors in the synthesis of furan-based polyesters.In this paper,sulfonated polyphenylene sulfide microporous membrane was used as catalyst to promote 5-HMF synthesis from fructose,and the effects of reaction temperature,reaction time,different degree of sulfonation,amount of catalyst and different forms of sulfonated polyphenylene sulfide(SPPS)on the yield of 5-HMF were studied.100%5-HMF yield was obtained over SPPS 14.7%-membrane at lower temperature of 90 ? for 50 min.Most importantly,no HMF rehydration was detected even under the conditions of increasing reaction temperature and prolonging reaction time.In addition,SPPS membranes could be reused for four recycles without obvious decrease in the activity.Herein,we also reported 4-HMF synthesis from 1,3-dihydroxyacetone(DHA)in DMSO,and a synergistic catalyst using metal salts and solid acids was proposed into.The effects of temperature,reaction time,and amount of catalyst on 5-HMF yields were studied to find the most suitable reaction conditions,and the reaction mechanism is established.Under the optimal reaction conditions,the highest yield of HMF 96.7%was obtained,among them the yield of 4-HMF and 5-HMF reached 85.4%and11.3%,respectively.
