| With the widely using of textile floor coverings in various fields,the problems of textile floor coverings caused by static electricity become more and more remarkable.In order to control the static electricity generated by textile floor coverings and improve the anti-static performance,it is the key to evaluate the anti-static performance of textile floor coverings by using appropriate methods and to give test results by facts.In this paper,25 samples of typical textile floor coverings are selected and are tested by using four different methods:resistance test,corona discharging test,analogue walking test and human walking test.By comparing and analyzing the test process and results of every measuring method,it is found that the antistatic property of textile floor covering fabric can be increased by adding metal fibers to the tusfts and conductive materials to the backing.Furthermore,oil-finishing process can also increase the antistatic property of textile floor coverings.From the resistance test,the electrostatic charges from textile floor coverings dissipating difficultly or easily can be determined.In a way,it provides a reference for evaluating the electrostatic performance of textile floor covering,but it is not direct enough.The corona discharge test specifies the relationships between the electrostatic voltage accumulating and corona dissipation speed of textile floor covering,but this method is non-contact test,which is inconsistent with the actual situation of electrostatic generated from the final-use textile floor coverings.The analogue walking test uses the simulated foot to test the friction and electrification on the surface of textile floor coverings,which is close to the reality.However,because the electrostatic voltage produced by excessive friction on the surface of textile floor covering,the electrostatic voltage is often larger than that produced by the human feet actually.If the electrostatic performance of products is judged by this method,The evaluation criteria will be too relaxed.So the human walking test is the most scientific,objective,practical and reliable test method for determining the antistatic property of textile floor coverings at present Finally the walking test is used for testing the electrostatic performance of woven Wilton floor coverings with process improving.It shows that human walking test is applied in evaluating the electrostatic performance of textile floor coverings. |
