Objective To discusse the clinical significance of lymph node metastasis in GIST clinical course. Methods Taken "gastrointestinal stromal tumor, lymph node metastasis"as docuterm. Retrieve literature pubulished from January1998to December2010in Pubmed and WangfangData.Collect patients, from six aspects to discusse:clinicopathological features of lymph node metastasis, Gene-expression and lymph node metastasis, GIST stage and ymph node metastasis, GIST treatment and lymph node metastasis, GIST prognosis and lymph node metastasis.Results6063literatures were collected and27were selected.16patients were enrolled in this study. In them,6were male (37.5%),10were female (63.5%), and the median age was49.25. Tumor location included the stomach in12(75%), small bowel in3(18.75%), esophagus in1(6.25%).10cases(62.5%)tumor size were more than5cm, maximum27cm. Mitotic counts of9patients were more than5/50HPF, the highest75/50HPF. Cellular morphology was predominantly spindle-shaped in13(81.25%). Gene analysis was occurred in7, in them4were kit gene exon11deletions (deletion at codon557-561,557-558,559-569,559-565, respectively). The risk classification: low risk accounted for12.5%, middle risk accounted for6.25%and high risk accounted for75%.Conclosions Lymph node metastasis in GIST may more occurred in that Tumor location was stomach, tumor stage was High risk and cellular morphology was spindle-shaped. Gene mutation may have a relationship with it. But its clinical significance remains unclear.
