ObjectiveIn this study, college students were selected as the subjects, and the mind-keeping training was used as an intervention method. The mean values of Late Positive Potential(LPP)under negative and neutral stimuli at two time points before and after the intervention were detected simultaneously by using the event-related potential technique, and the mean values of LPP potentials under different conditions were compared among different groups of subjects in order to explore the modulating effect of mind-keeping training on negative emotions.MethodsIn this study,72 college students from Oriental College of Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine will be recruited, and the subjects will be randomly divided into an intervention group and a control group according to a 1:1 ratio using SPSS software. The intervention group received 8 weeks of mind-keeping training, while the control group was a blank control and did not receive any training during the trial.ERP data were collected from two groups of subjects at two time points in stimulus state 1 and stimulus state 2,neutral and negative stimuli.Late positive potential LPP,which represents mood, was used as an effect indicator to comparatively analyze different groups and different states in the early time window(400-600 ms),middle time window(600-800 ms),late time window(800-1000 ms),frontal zone(F3,Fz,F4),central frontal zone(FC3,FCz,FC4),central region(C3,Cz,C4),central top zone(CP3,CPz,CP4),top zone(P3,Pz,P4)LPP mean differences to explore the effect of mind-keeping operations on negative emotions.Subjects were recruited according to whether or not they had attended the 12-week TCM Qigong course, and whether or not they had practiced mind-keeping for 120 minutes. The above two factors were divided into experienced and inexperienced groups, and by comparing the mean values of stimulated LPP before and after the intentional guarding condition in the two groups,to analyze differences in the effect of mind-keeping on negative affect regulation under empirical factors. For the intervention and control groups in the 400-1000 ms time window under the frontal, central frontal, central central parietal, and parietal regions. The left and right hemispheres of the brain correspond to leads F3-F4,FC3-FC4,C3-C4,CP3-CP4,P3-P4,LPP mean values in the stimulus state 1 state for correlation analysis, comparing the left and right brain correlations between the two groups at the two time points and the trends to argue for differences in the effects that occur spatially(lead)when intentional guarding regulates negative emotions.Results1.Comparison of mean LPP values at two time points for each state stimulus in the intervention and control groups.Negative stimulation:In the 400-600 ms time window, compared to one-time point, the mean values of LPP in the central, central parietal and parietal regions at the two-time point of stimulus 1 and stimulus 2 were significantly lower in the intervention group(P<0.05)and in the control group(P<0.05)for each brain region. In the 600-800 ms time window, the difference between the LPP mean values in the intervention group at the two-time point compared to the one-time point for each brain region in stimulus state 1 was not statistically significant(P>0.05),the LPP mean values in the parietal region in stimulus state 2 decreased significantly at the two-time point compared to the one-time point(P<0.05),and the differences in the remaining brain regions were not statistically significant(P>0.05).In the control group, there was no statistically significant(P>0.05)difference in LPP mean values at the frontal region of stimulus state 1 and the frontal and central regions of stimulus state 2 at the two-time point compared to the one-time point, while the remaining brain regions showed a decrease in LPP mean values at the two-time point compared to the one-time point,(P<0.05).In the 800-1000 ms time window, the difference in the mean diachronic LPP values between the two stimulus states in the intervention group was not statistically significant(P>0.05).In the control group,LPP mean values decreased at the two-time point compared to the one-time point(P<0.05),except for the frontal area in stimulus state 1 and the parietal area in stimulus state 2,where the differences were not statistically significant(P>0.05)Neutral stimulation:in the 400-600 ms,600-800 ms,800-1000 ms time windows. The difference in LPP mean values in the intervention group before and after the intervention was not statistically significant(P>0.05),and the control group showed a significant decrease in LPP mean values at the two-time point compared to the one-time point(P<0.05).2.Comparison of the mean values of LPP with and without experience under the qigong empirical factor in the two groups before and after the stimulus of guarding.Negative stimulation:In the 400-600 ms time window, the mean LPP values before and after stimulation in the experienced group differed significantly(P<0.05)in parietal areas, and in the inexperienced group the mean LPP values differed significantly(P<0.05)in five brain areas. In the 600-800 ms time window, the differences in LPP mean values before and after stimulation were not statistically significant(P>0.05)in all brain regions in the experienced group, and in four brain regions except the parietal region in the inexperienced group(P<0.05).In the 800-1000 ms time window, there was no statistically significant difference in the mean LPP values before and after stimulation in the experienced group(P>0.05),and significant differences in the mean LPP values in the inexperienced group for the four brain regions except the parietal region(P<0.05).Neutral stimulation:the differences between the two groups before and after each state were not statistically significant(P>0.05)at any time window.3.Comparison of the correlation analysis of the mind-keeping regulation of negative affective space(lead).①The correlation coefficients of the left and right brain in the frontal region were largest in the intervention group at the second time point, and showed a decreasing trend toward the top region, while the left and right brain in the control group did not show any obvious pattern.②The correlation between the left and right brain in the intervention group was increased, while that in the control group was decreased.ConclusionOn the basis of enhancing the correlation and synergy between the left and right hemispheres of the brain mainly in the frontal region, the mind-keeping training can reduce the reaction effect to negative emotional stimuli in order to regulate negative emotions, and the effect of dissolving negative emotions in people with qigong experience is more obvious.
