Research On The Shaping Of City Image By Suzhou Water Culture

With the acceleration of economic integration,the regional competition is becoming more and more intensified.As the main body among regions,the competitiveness of cities represents the regional competitiveness.One of the most important elements of urban competitiveness is the urban culture and urban image,which is the hot and key point of the research on urban competitiveness.The study of urban culture and the shaping of city image will help create a brand-name city and speed up the city's all-round development.This paper chooses Suzhou as the object of this research,because Suzhou's water culture is a very important part of its urban culture.It can be said that there is no today's Suzhou without water.In order to study the city image of Suzhou and find the way to promote its city image,we must start with the most important water culture in Suzhou's urban culture,understand the evolution and construction of Suzhou's water culture from ancient times till now,and select the representative construction of water culture.To explore the relationship between city image,urban culture and water culture of Suzhou,point out the new image of Suzhou,and summarize the experience of its construction of water culture is of universal practical significance for shaping good city image of other cities.Finally,from the cultural development of Venice,which is also Watertown,we could compare the similarities and differences of cultural water features between Suzhou and Venice,and explore how it can enhance its own image through water culture and find a way to draw lessons for the development of Suzhou's future city image.Based on the historical development,philosophical implication,practice of water culture and recognition of urban image in Suzhou,this paper analyzes and discusses the modern water culture,and makes concrete experience summary with practical significance.There is not much research on the relationship between water culture and city image.This research endeavors to enrich the theoretical research in this field and make a contribution to the research on water culture and city image.
