Yang Mingkun's oral script of Yangzhou Pinghua PiWuLaZi is an excellent literature work created on the basis of inheriting the Quyi artistes' creation essence,and it also a promoting of non-material cultural heritage of our nation.There are many rhetorical phenomena in this work.Among them,the use of metaphor is the most prominent,large and unique.This paper takes the metaphor of Yang Mingkun's performance of PiWuLaZi as the main research object,to make exhaustive statistics and combined with the analysis and investigation of linguistic theory.This thesis is divided into five chapters:The first chapter is introduction,which briefly summarizes the development of Yangzhou Pinghua PiWuLaZi,the research status and the blank of it are also analyzed.Then it explains the content,significance and methods of this study.The second chapter analyzes the metaphorical phenomenon in PiWuLaZi by using metaphor theory of traditional rhetoric.The classification of metaphorical types is according to the different ways of language expression,it is divided into two categories:words and phrases,sections and chapters.And then,in the analogy of words and phrases,we classify the basic and special types of metaphor in detail,and the examples are selected to be depicted.Finally,the article summarizes the characteristics of the metaphor:plain words,humorous and vivid images.The third chapter analyzes the construction and understanding of metaphor from the cognitive perspective.Firstly,the conceptual integration is used to analyze the cognitive process of metaphor.This section mainly discusses the various relations between tenors and vehicles,that is to analyze the similarity of them.It is mainly manifested in two aspects:for things that are less different in nature,the metaphor is constructed by focusing on the obvious similarities,from the aspects of shape,spirit or reason to establish the relationship between tenors and vehicles.And for those things with great differences,we break the space barrier to achieve the projection and integration between things,so as to find similarity to construct metaphors.Secondly,the understanding process of metaphor is analyzed by using relevance theory.That is to say,find the correlation or similarity between tenors and vehicles,including three aspects:physical similarity,psychological similarity and reason similarity.The fourth chapter analyzes the factors that influence the metaphor of PiWuLaZi from the perspective of pragmatics.This part mainly analyzes the two aspects of the subjective and objective context of non-linguistic context and linguistic context.It is found that contextual context,social and cultural background,national psychology,place,the author's subjective feelings as well as identity,occupation and personality factors restrict the comprehension of metaphor.The last chapter is the comparative analysis of metaphor.I make a comparison of metaphor between Yang Mingkun's and Yu Youchun's PiWuLaZi from the following three aspects:types of metaphor,grammatical form of vehicles and features of metaphor.By comparison,it points out that the material,manifestation and style of metaphor in Yang's Pinghua are more ingenious and unique.It illustrates that his metaphor has the characteristics of diversity,vividness,simplicity,typically and novelty.And it also makes his performance present the spicy,lively,abundant,more popular and colloquial language style characteristics,with gentle,implicit,concise language narrative style of Yu Youchun's formed a sharp contrast difference,which highlighting the different language cultivation and thinking mode of different artists.
