Research On Folk Belief And Culture Of Fengxiang Lingshan Mountain

As the main Fengxiang folk belief,since the Pre-Qin tradition,Lingshan belief has been thousand-years history.In the process of its heritage and development,the Pre-Qin culture,local religion,Taoism,Buddhism and Confucian culture,they all fused together forming the Lingshan belief culture which makes the Confucianism as its main belief systems.To a certain degree,Lingshan belief culture is the concrete expression of local culture and knowledge.And Lingshan belief culture forms on the basis of local people's psychological and practical needs.Therefore,it has obvious multiple compound,utilitarian and practical characteristics.Lingshan belief as the main belief object of local folk,the culture contained in it has a deep influence on the local people's social life.It not only has the function of moral education,psychological comfort,entertainment and so on,but also promotes the development of local economy,and also enhances the cohesion between people,which are beneficial for the harmonious development of the rural society.To research the folk beliefs can find out the laws and characteristics of the construction of folk belief system and have a further understand to the ideas of people in rural society and local culture.Focusing on Lingshan belief,this paper introduces the formation process of Lingshan belief culture and the practical activities of local people's belief culture and analyses the reality of Lingshan belief culture in Fengxiang,as well as further explore the constructive laws and characteristics of local beliefs and knowledge system on the former basis.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part summarizes the basic situation of belief in village H of Fengxiang and Lingshan.Setting out from the aspect of geographical location and historical evolution of Lingshan,the paper emphatically discusses the formation of Lingshan belief and Lingshan belief culture,including the origin of Lingshan belief(the Pre-Qin culture),the establishment of Jinghui Temple(Buddhism,Taoism culture),and the recovery and reconstruction of Lingshan belief after 1949,etc.The second part discusses the system and structure of Lingshan belief culture.By the layout of Jinghui Temple in Lingshan and the worship of God's,the paper will discuss the system of Lingshan belief culture to point out that Lingshan belief culture is a multivariate and sophisticated belief culture fused by Confucian and local culture.And the local people have formed their own understanding to every God through the Movement of Building Gods,which evolved into a local culture with local characteristics.In the formation process of Lingshan belief culture,the believers'psychology and reality demands are the basis of its formation.The third part will discuss the practice of local people's belief culture by analyzing the case on the activities of people's Lingshan belief,describing respectively from two aspects,daily visits activities and the temple fair.Daily visits activities includes the pilgrims burning incense,burning paper and charity activities,etc.The temple fair activities includes inviting God,making a wish and votive activities,etc.People's belief culture practical activities are of a strong practical and utilitarian color.People's practical activities are influenced by Lingshan belief culture.Meanwhile,with the development of society,people also adjust the traditional Lingshan belief culture properly in new social circumstances to make it adapt to the trend of social development.The fourth part summarizes the social and cultural functions of Lingshan belief.The author thinks Lingshan belief culture has the social and cultural functions,like moral education,psychological comfortable,entertainment,promoting economic development,strengthening the cohesion between believers,promoting the harmonious development of the rural society and so on.Therefore,the author reckons that Lingshan belief as the local believers' main belief,the culture contained in it plays a positive role in the local believers' social life.
