In the second language reading,incidental vocabulary acquisition should focus on the learning of language elements carried out by learners on the basis of the context,which belongs to the teaching mode of both semantics and forms.From the perspective of incidental vocabulary acquisition,studies of the elements of the second language learners' language learning,not only can be more comprehensive understanding vocabulary acquisition,but also to explore the deep cognitive activities behind the study of language elements.This study explores the effects of different input intensities on language acquisition in the acquisition process of Chinses vocabulary,focuses on the mechanism of attention in second language acquisition,expatiates the role of attention in the timing of input reinforcement and the effect of this effect on learners' language learning.The study not only explores the influence of different reinforcement timing on learners' vocabulary learning and discourse comprehension,analyzes the rationality of different reinforcement timing in the contribution of language acquisition,but also explores the deep cognitive activities behind the timing of input reinforcement,aims to provide some theoretical improvement for the design of L2 vocabulary teaching as well as for the incidental teaching of the second language.This paper consists of five parts:First chapter is the introduction of this study,introduces the reasons and necessity of this research,expounds the practical value from theory and application and summarizes briefly the relevant researches.The second chapter discusses the effect of attention on the timing of input reinforcement in the second language,introduces the concept of "maintenance retelling" and "delicacy retelling" to record the vocabulary awareness,makes some analysis on the ideological resource contention between textual understanding and vocabulary acquisition in the process of Chinese reading,by this way the theoretical foundation for further development of this research is made.The third chapter describes the research questions,experimental design and the experimental steps,makes some preliminary discussion of the experimental results.Fourth chapter combines the experimental findings and the previous discussion,makes a detailed analysis from two aspects:vocabulary acquisition and textual understanding.The last chapter summarizes the factors that influence the acquisition of Chinese vocabulary,puts forward that the timing of input reinforcement does affect learners' attention in vocabulary learning,and the different input reinforcement timing results in different effects,textual materials,new word density,reading context and learners' linguistic ability will affect the incidental acquisition of Chinese vocabulary.In the meantime,the findings of this study have certain guiding significance for the Chinese classroom,the combination of implicit and explicit is the best way for vocabulary acquisition,which can not only make up the difference,but also avoid the influence of task requirement on the reinforcement effect.Reading the notes before the text is the best method,short-term input reinforcement does not contribute to a permanent second language acquisition,so it is not wisely enough to ignore the role of practice and output in acquiring vocabulary knowledge.
