This thesis is intended to do some research into the current academic burnout situation of senior high school students and test the validity of intervening in their academic burnout with Solution—Focused Brief Group Counseling(SFBGC similarly hereinafter),meanwhile, further focusing on the therapeutic factors during this intervening process and the summarization and sharing of experience in this operational process.A summary of experience is expected to provide some reference for psychology teaching staff in senior high schools.700 students from Y senior high school in Jiangsu Province participated in a questionnaire survey using High School Students Burnout, among whom 28 students who get scores above 64 volunteered to participate in the research and be randomly and equally divided into experimental group and control group.Experimental group are intervened with self-designed schemes of SFBGC,while control group receive no intervention. As the research findings reveal,(1)according to the 636 collected valid questionnaires,25.94 percent of the students undergo mild academic burnout while 1.42 percent of the students suffer from severe academic burnout;(2)the total mark of Grade I being remarkably inferior to that of Grade Ⅱ.the total mark of Grade II being not significantly inferior to that of Grade Ⅲ(The degree of academic burnout is in proportion to the mark, similarly hereinafter);(3)there exist striking differences between different sexes, with male’s mark being higher than that of female’s;(4)although only children is higher than non-only children in total mark and every dimension, the differences are not remarkably;(5)resident students are higher than no-resident students in total mark and every dimension, not signifcantly;(6)students from single parent family are higher than those from two-parent family in total mark and every dimension, but not significantly;(7)there exist no significant differences about control group before and after the research;(8)the experimental group also get significantly lower scores of the post-test than the pre-test,which is the same as the result of tracking measurement after four weeks, meaning SFBGC has significant effects on the degree of students’academic burnout;(9)the prime factors of effective intervention consist of the reasonability of the group counseling scheme, full preparations before involvement and the efficient implement and understanding of focused spirit from group counselors.
