With the fast development of Chinese economy and the rapid increase of the comprehensive power of China,the position of Chinese language is getting higher and higher in the world.More and more foreigner students come to China to study the amazing and fascinating language and the great Chinese culture.Vocabulary is like the basic building material to a language.If you want to build a skyscraper,you have to start brick by brick.And it is the same for learning a new language,you have to learn a language word by word.Without the accumulation of words,you can never master a language.As one of the foreigner students who are studying China,the author has as many problems as or fchreoreigners during the process of learning Chinese laguage.At the same time,as a student who majors in Chinese International Education and will be a Chinese teacher someday,the author wants to find a good way to improve the situation of Chinese voccabulary teaching,that’s why this paper is aiming to study the Chinese vocabulary teaching methods.In this research,the author will talk about some current vocabulary teaching methods first,and then will bring up a new method of teaching vocabulary that called Morpheme and Context teaching method,with the hope to do some good to the academic field of teaching Chinese as the second language.At the last part of this paper,the author will come up with a tentative plan which means to build up a Chinese-Chinese Electronic Dictionary especially for foreigner students by applying the vocabulary teaching methods that mentioned above.All in all,the research of vocabulary teaching methods in teaching Chinese as the second language is very meaningful both for Chinese learners and teachers.The system of Chinese language is quite different from other languages,so the learning process will also be quite different.During the process of learning Chinese,the author can always feel the intense and historical beauty of Chinese vocabulary.therefore,the fundamental purpose of this research is to deeply understand Chinese vocabulary by using highly effective vocabulary teaching methods.
