The Work And Living Conditions Of Hangzhou Silk Reeling Workers During The Period Of The Republic Of China (1912-1937)

Silk reeling industry is a new kind of industry during the period of the republic of China,it is different in China’s traditional legal system,soil and advanced industrial technology,in silk,silk,price,etc more than soil industrial history occupies an important position in moderm China.Hangzhou has been known throughout the country since ancient times,silk reeling,silk weaving and other domestic handicrafts have been flourishing.For the modern machine industry,however,with the invasion of the powers and the incoming,natural economy suffered a major blow,cottage industry is on the verge of bankruptcy,the traditional earth wire was reduced,a large number of machine factory inception,China gradually into industrialization.The resulting in China to produce a group of emerging-silk reeling workers,they are in the new era,work hard with their own hands,for China’s modern Silk reeling industry developmentmadeasignificantcontribution.In this paper,from 1912 to 1937,Hangzhou silk reeling workers were selected as objects to discuss the life situation of silk reeling workers,which was divided into five parts.The first part mainly introduces the development status of Hangzhou silk reeling industry,and analyzes it with two large pieces of silk reeling factory and silk reeling workers in Hangzhou.In this paper,the development of silk reeling factory in Hangzhou is introduced.In the aspect of silk reeling workers,the number,origin,gender,age and education degree are introduced.The second part mainly introduces the workers’ condition of reeling workers,from the three aspects of working time,salary and working environment.The third part mainly introduces the living conditions of reeling workers,mainly from the five aspects of food expenditure,clothing expenditure,housing expenditure,entertainment expenditure and family burden.The fourth part mainly to Hangzhou silk reeling workers and parade Hangzhou,Hangzhou primary school faculty salary income,reflect from the comparison of Hangzhou silk reeling workers working and living conditions,in order to locate in Hangzhou silk reeling workers industry overall situation.In the last part,it is concluded that the development of silk reeling industry in Hangzhou is fast,but the overall industrial base is still weak.Secondly,the living standard of Hangzhou silk reeling workers is still adequate,which basically keeps the food and clothing,and is in the middle and lower classes,not the bottom.The development of Hangzhou’s urbanization also improves the quality of life of the silk reeling workers in Hangzhou to some extent.In the period of the republic of China,the number of silk reeling workers in Hangzhou was large,and it was a large branch of the workers’ group.The silk reeling industry in Hangzhou,as one of the whole silk industry chain,has developed rapidly.It is the representative of the emerging industry and its important industry.Therefore,it is representative.In silk reeling workers’ wage income,the life pressure and so on aspects of the study,can spy on Hangzhou workers’ overall state of life,to study the development of the city’s overall situation and the development of today’s society all have certain effect...
