Chinese civilization is the only uninterrupted civilization in the world.Its strong vitality stems from the " cultural gene" it contains.These cultural genes are hidden or scattered in the classics of the Chinese nation.The Analects of Confucius is one of the most important classics in the Chinese cultural system,and Zhu Xi’s inclusion in the " Four Books" has played an important role in fostering and forming the spirit of the Chinese nation.This article focuses on " benevolence" in The Analects from the perspective of Chinese cultural genes and discusses it from the following three aspects.First of all,it traces back to the budding of " benevolence" in the pre-Confucius era.First,explore the implication of benevolence in philology.The word "benevolence" is composed of " heart"," thousand hearts"," corpse 2"," body and mind" and " person 2".There is only one case of’ thousand hearts’ and it is not related to inquiry.The " benevolence" of " person 2" emphasizes the relationship between people,and the " benevolence" of " body and mind" emphasizes the subjectivity and dynamics.Combining the two," benevolence" not only covers the interaction between people,but also includes subjectivity and dynamics.Second,the meaning of " benevolence" in the literature.The main body of the word " benevolence" in the literature refers to clearly and widely,and its content is mainly love for loved ones,tending to think that " benevolence" is a kind of morality.The bud of " benevolence" in the pre-Confucius era has already emerged.Confucius " benevolence" not only inherits the essence of predecessors,but also breaks through the limitations and constructs a dynamic ideological system.Secondly,it expounds the foundation of Confucius’ benevolence.First,the internal tension of Confucius’ s " benevolence" makes it possible to create a path.Confucius has never defined " benevolence" in the following way.Its " benevolence" has the characteristics of fuzziness,concreteness and practicality,which endows "benevolence" with great tension and makes it contain both the implication in practice and the practical practice in practice.Second,the emotional foundation of Confucius’ benevolence-love.Third,filial piety is the blood foundation of Confucius’ benevolence." Love" and " Filial Piety" take the life experience as the central axis,close to the life emotion,close to the real life practice,and push forward accordingly,laying a solid foundation for Confucius’ realization of " benevolence".Finally,the paper discusses the way to realize Confucius’ benevolence.First,the way to realize Confucius’ benevolence.Specifically,it includes the permanence of life state,the perfection of beauty and goodness,the separation of benevolence and body,the unity of inside and outside,and the all-beneficent limitlessness.Second,the concrete way to realize Confucius’ benevolence.Specifically,it includes the construction of the moral and objective system,the protocol of rites and the cultivation of ability and wisdom.Under the joint action of generating foundation and realizing approach,Confucius’ s " benevolence" can be fully developed,expanded and realized.Confucius’ benevolence,as the root of Confucianism,is the cultural gene of Chinese traditional ethics.It deeply affects the Chinese way of thinking,regulates the Chinese ethical behavior and promotes the Chinese moral cultivation.The full excavation and practice of Confucius’ " benevolence" will certainly contribute to the cultivation and promotion of socialist core values and the realization of the grand goal of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
