| The source text of this English-Chinese translation practice is selected from the first and the second chapters of the pedagogical work Inquiry-Based Teaching and Learning across Disciplines.The practice report includes five parts: Task Description,Pre-translation Preparation,Translation Process,Case Analysis,as well as Summary and Conclusion.In the part of Case Analysis,the author summarizes the typical cases and analyzes the difficulties in the process of translation from two aspects: the translation of vocabulary and the translation of compound sentences.The translation of vocabulary includes the choice of word-meanings in the context of pedagogy and the conversion of parts of speech,while the translation compound sentence includes the translation of appositive clauses,the translation of passive sentences(compound sentences)and the splitting and combination of compound sentences.Through this English-Chinese translation practice,the author has strengthened the comprehension and application of translation theories,strategies,methods and techniques,and has improved translation ability.At the same time,the author hopes to provide a reference for the translation practice of the same type in the future. |
