Audiovisual Language Analysis Of Suspense Movies In Mainland China In The New Century

Suspicion film is a kind of genre film,which takes suspense as its narrative focus.Since the new century,with the prosperity and development of China’s film market,suspense movies,like other types of movies,have entered the fast lane of development.Suspicion movies are not the main force in the Chinese film market,and are often confused with thrillers and horrors.After the new century,the number of’suspense movies in mainland China has steadily increased,which has enriched the film market in China.Audiovisual language is a kind of perceptual language that uses the reasonable arrangement of audiovisual stimulus to disseminate certain information to the audience,including image,sound and other aspects.The suspense settings of suspense films are often presented by some specific audiovisual techniques.By defining suspense movies and analyzing their common audio-visual language,we can better summarize the characteristics of suspense movies and related artistic aesthetics and problems.The purpose of this paper is to summarize the audio-visual language characteristics of suspense films in mainland China in a period of time after the new century,and to provide some reference for the future creation and research of domestic suspense films in mainland China.The full text is divided into four parts.The first part focuses on defining the concept of suspense movies,making a preliminary study and summary of the types and development of suspense movies in mainland China,pointing out the achievements of suspense movies in mainland China,and screening the main suspense movies as the object of analysis.In the second part,the author analyses the layout design,lens design,visual angle and symbolic elements of the visual system to find out the features and effects of the suspense film in visual language,and makes a case study with the specific content of the film.The third part analyses the characteristics and effects of domestic suspense movies in terms of music,sound and sound effects.The fourth part is based on the analysis of the audio-visual language of suspense movies in the previous part,pointing out the existing problems in the development of audio-visual language of suspense movies in mainland China and the countermeasures to improve them.
