1912-1949 Research On Historical Materials Of "School Concerts" In Shanghai

Shanghai,one of the earliest cities open to the outside world,is chosen as the research site in this paper.Selecting a series of historical materials in ShunPao,the largest newspaper at that time,as the main research object,and combining with other newspapers in the same period,a series of historical data research on "school concert" was carried out.In this paper,the mainstream newspapers and magazines,such as ShunPao and Ta Kung Pao,mainly describe the emergence and development of "school concert" in Shanghai in detail,and analyze it in order to show the development process of "school concert" in Shanghai during the period of the Republic of China and some influence at that time.The"school concert" first entered our country is not the "concert" we are now enjoying in the Grand Theatre and other places.In the early days,"school concert" appeared more in the form of"recreation party" and "fraternity party".With the spread of western culture more and more far-reaching,gradually from a single form of "entertainment" to a more professional "concert"development.The appearance of "school concert" in the Republic of China had a very important impact on music education.Non-professional colleges and universities regard "school concert" as a way of cultivating students’extracurricular interest,so that they can deepen their music accomplishment and develop their interest and hobbies in the process of listening to "concert".In professional colleges and universities,"school concert" is not only a way to increase students’after-school interest and cultivate their music literacy,but also a means of teaching assessment to improve students’ professional literacy.It also invisibly improves teachers’professional level and teaching quality.However,the holding of "school concert"promoted the development of music art in both professional and non-professional colleges and universities,and integrated Chinese and foreign music art,which not only made the students at that time have a profound understanding of Western music,but also reflected on and innovated the problems of traditional music in China.Music education in schools has also improved the quality of teaching invisibly,bringing about many positive effects.
