A Report On The Creation Of The Queer Micro-film "The Tower"

The unique marriage and maternity culture and deep-rooted marriage and maternity concept has always existed in China,highlighting the importance of offspring.In the creative report of Tower,it focuses on the family life of a gay under the traditional Chinese maternity culture and moral restraint and attempts to present the unique life status of the male protagonist "Li Chunyang" with artistic images,as well as deeply discusses the psychological change process of this individual's hard choice between the social gender and physical gender,and then expresses how the male protagonist regains self-identification and liberation.In Tower,it shows the transformation of the gender role of the characters in the form of micro film from the queer theory.Several image symbols are selected to implicitly reveal the state of the character's inner self-cognition from the ambiguous and struggle to the clarity and firmness of self-consciousness.The self-consciousness is allowed to flow in the hearts of the character's inner heart by taking the symbol as a clue to run through the timeline of the story,thus trying to show more experimental exploration of the "self-identify" and emphasize the interpretation from diversity perspective under the background of combining the queer theory with the traditional Chinese marriage and family concept.Tower is elaborated in the form of a creative report,and the suppression and escape of the emotions suffered when facing the pressure and exclusion within the family is studied.In the current relatively open and free social environment of China,the visibility of LGBT is still very low,while most of them believe that it is directly related to disclosure and discrimination.In this film,it discusses the living state of this group in social culture and gender relations from perspective of individual through taking Li Chunyang who takes the responsibility of traditional social cultural regulations as a representative,tries to use the localized queer image of Li Chunyang to break the inherent thinking of normative gender,so as to inspire the film viewers to think more deeply,explore and extend the boundary of the inherent thinking,and expand and enrich the freedom and living space of LGBT under the Chinese family concept.
