The Relationship Between Parental Rearing Style, Time Management Tendency And Online Game Addiction Of High School Students

With the development and popularity of networks and multimedia,the Internet plays an increasingly important role in our lives,which makes our lives rich and fascinating.But there have also been some new problems,of which Internet addiction is one of the more serious problems,and this problem is getting more and more serious.One of the main types of Internet addiction,online game addiction,has brought a great negative impact on the Chinese adolescent group.With the popularity of the Internet,high school students’ online game addiction problems are becoming more and more serious,which will not only affect their learning and life,but also have a negative impact on the healthy development of mind and body.The problem of online game addiction has become a key research issue in adolescent mental health education,which has aroused widespread concern in society.Parental rearing pattern is a key factor for the healthy development of high school students,which plays an important role in the healthy development of adolescent physical and mental health.Time management tends to be an individual’s stable personality trait,and there is an inextricable link between the two and online game addiction.By studying the relationship between the three,we understand the mediating effect of time management tendencies on parenting style and online game addiction.This is extremely important for us to further explore the problem of online game addiction,help parents to establish the correct educational method,guide the high school students’ correct time management tendency,and thus reduce the online game addiction behavior of high school students.The research used 390 high school students from a high school in Linyi as the research object to explore the relationship between parental rearing style,time management tendency and online game addiction,so as to develop the online addiction status of teenagers,guide them to use the network reasonably to prevent the harm of online game addiction.The 390 high school students were tested using the Parental Parenting Style Scale(S-EMBU-C),the Adolescent Time Management Disposition Scale(ATMD),and the Online Game Addiction Scale.The following findings were obtained:(1)The level of online game addiction of high school students is generally in the middle and lower levels.(2)The level of time management of high school students is at a medium to upper level.(3)There is a significant gender difference in father rejection,mother rejection,and online game addiction.(4)Mothers’ emotional warmth is significantly different in whether they are only children.(5)Time management tendencies vary significantly at grade level.(6)The father’s emotional warmth and mother’s emotional warmth can significantly predict the time management tendency;mother’s over protection can negatively predict the time management tendency.(7)Father refusal can significantly predict online game addiction;father’s emotional warmth and mother’s emotional warmth can significantly negatively predict online game addiction;time management tendencies can significantly negatively predict online game addiction.(8)Time management tends to play a full intermediary role between father’s emotional warmth and online game addiction;time management tends to play a full intermediary role between mother’s emotional warmth and online game addiction;time management tends to overprotect mother and online game addiction Partial mediation between them.
