| Childhood abuse and neglect are the high-risk factors for substance addictions,which Individual is prone to have negative emotions and even form a vicious circle,finally causing physical and psychological harm to detoxification personnel.Therefore,it is important to explore the specific influentially mechanism of childhood abuse and neglection on drug cravings of drug addictions.Mindfulness is the way in which individuals can focus their attentions on the moment and it helps to alleviate the negative emotions caused by childhood abuse and neglect so that helping detoxification personnel reduce their craving levels.Alexithymia which most drug abusers have is an emotional disorder that causing the emotional discrimination and expressive obstacle.Also,it is significantly associated with childhood abuse and neglect as well as drug cravings.The comparison of the role of both mindfulness and alexithymia in the effects of childhood abuse and neglect on drug cravings has not been studied.Regulatory emotional self-efficacy is both a form of emotional regulation and a form of self-efficacy.The study found that it is significantly negative correlated with childhood abuse and neglect,which can effectively regulate the generation and development of negative emotions,as well as has a significant regulatory effect on substance addiction.Therefore,regulatory emotional self-efficacy may play as a regulatory role in the mechanism of child abuse and neglect and drug craving in drug abusers.The main purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of childhood abuse and neglect on the drug cravings from drug abusers and their internal mechanisms of action.That is to say,the regulating effect of alexithymia,the mediating effect of mindfulness,and regulatory emotional self-efficacy.The data of this study would be collected from 857 male drug addicts aged from 21 to 64 years old(M=39.39,SD=8.11)in a compulsory isolation drug rehabilitation center using childhood abuse and neglect,mindfulness,drug craving,alexithymia and emotional self-efficacy scale.The results showed that:(1)Childhood abuse and neglect significantly positively predict drug cravings.(2)The alexithymia mediates between childhood abuse and neglect and drug cravings.(3)Mindfulness plays a mediating role in childhood abuse and neglect and drug cravings.(4)Regulatory emotional self-efficacy plays as buffer role between childhood abuse and neglect as well as the relationship between mindfulness.(5)Regulatory emotional self-efficacy regulates the mediating role of mindfulness in childhood abuse and neglect and drug craving.(6)Regulatory emotional self-efficacy plays a buffer between childhood abuse and neglect and alexithymia.(7)Regulatory emotional self-efficacy regulates as the mediating role of alexithymia in childhood abuse and neglect and drug craving.The above findings indicated that childhood abuse and neglect are important factors to influence drug cravings.Alexithymia and mindfulness are important mediating variables in this mechanism,and this process varies according to regulatory emotional self-efficacy.Regulatory emotional self-efficacy is the reason for the individual differences in the above intermediary process. |
