The Language Income Effect Of Chinese Minority Labor Force's Mandarin Ability

At this stage,the poverty problem in China’s ethnic minority areas is severe,and the problem of population poverty is one of the urgent problems that China needs to solve urgently.Leading ethnic minority areas out of poverty and raising the income of minority labor groups is an important part of it.However,studies have shown that the current effect of education human capital investment in minority areas in China is limited.Therefore,it is necessary to find other breakthroughs to increase the income of minority labors.Putonghua ability can be an important part of solving the problem of poverty among ethnic minorities.However,in the minority areas of China,the current situation of the popularization of Mandarin is not optimistic.Improving the ability to use Mandarin in ethnic minorities is an effective way to increase the income of labor in ethnic areas and promote poverty alleviation.The study aims to analyze the impact of minority labor force’s Putonghua ability on its labor income,and propose relevant effective language policies for poverty alleviation in minority areas.The study firstly analyzes the influence of Putonghua’s ability on the income of minority laborers in theory,including:First,Mandarin,as one of the components of human capital,has the nature of human capital,so it will affect income;at the same time,the ability of Putonghua will interact with other human capital and ultimately affect income.Second,Putonghua will affect the formation and accumulation of labor social capital,which in turn will have an impact on labor income.Third,there is a mutual influence between human capital and social capital,which affects the income of minority labors.Language plays an important role in this.Then based on the data of CGSS2012,the variables selection,model selection and applicability analysis are firstly carried out,then the overall role of Putonghua ability in minority labor sample and the influence of Putonghua ability on the income of minority labor groups in different income levels are analyzed.The influence of Putonghua’s ability on the income of minority laborers in different industries.The study found that the ability of Putonghua,especially the ability of speaking,has a more significant effect on the occupational income of the minority labor force than education,and it is more prominent in the middle and low income level labor force;Service industry practitioners have an important language income effect.Therefore,in the context of building a well-off society in an all-round way,it is necessary to raise the level of Putonghua in ethnic minorities to the level of national development strategy,and to ensure the full implementation of Putonghua education and Putonghua training in minority areas with the law as a guarantee.
