| Uyghur folk Dastan is a long narrative poem with a long history.It has a long length and singing content.It is a narrative literary work formed by the combination of folk poetic language and prose language.The object of this paper is the Uyghur hero Dastan The warrior Qin Timur.Dastan tells the story of the brothers and sisters who were abandoned by the queen to the forest.They came out of the forest as adults after being raised by bears.After overcoming a series of difficulties and setbacks,going through many times of separation and combination,with the joint efforts of brother and sister,they defeating the enemies of foreign invasion together,and reuniting to the hometown finally.At present,this Dastan has three kinds of texts,one is The warrior Qin Timur,which is included in the Uighur folk epic,and the other is Akulan Bair Khan,which is published in the third issue of Bulak in 1991.The third one is also named Akulan Bair Khan,which is recorded in the selected works of Lopnur folk literature,but this text is different from the second one.In this paper,the research will based on the first text,which is compiled by the Editorial Committee of Uighur folk literature.Within the scope of ability,this paper analyzes Dastan’s plot,motif,rhetoric and other aspects through the methods of text research,analysis and other folk literature research methods.This paper consists of four parts:introduction,text,conclusion and appendix.The introduction part includes the purpose,significance and methods of the research.The first chapter introduces the Dastan and the content of each text,as well as the differences among the three texts.The second chapter is the plot and motif analysis of the text,which is the core part of the thesis.The motif part of Dastan studies is the composition and sequence structure of Dastan’s core motifs according to the motif analysis sequence in the book "index of folklore motifs" compiled by an American scholar Stith Thompson.The third chapter explores a series of aspects with primitive worship content,such as various shaman cultural factors and natural worship in the text.Chapter four analyzes the rhetorical features of Dastan.In the conclusion part,the author makes a brief summary of the contents of each chapter of the paper,and describes the innovation and shortcomings of the paper.The appendix is the Chinese translation of Dastan’s The warrior Qin Timur and the tables of the scholars related with this Dastan.. |
