Francis Jean Marcel Poulenc is a French composer and pianist in the 20 th century.He is one of the representatives of neoclassicism and a member of the French six member group.His works have beautiful melody,and unique creative features in harmony,texture and other aspects.This double Piano Concerto in D minor was created in 1932.It is the only double Piano Concerto in Poulenc’s career,which is very representative.This period is in the middle of Poulenc’s creation,and it is also the prosperous period of neoclassicism.The works have strong neoclassicism style.This paper takes Poulenc’s double Piano Concerto in D minor as the research object,analyzes the technical characteristics of the work in pitch organization,texture and accessories,and explores the neoclassical style of the work.The article is divided into three chapters.The first chapter summarizes the life of Poulenc,the types of his works and the origin of neoclassical music.The second chapter discusses the neoclassical features of his works in pitch organization and polyphonic form,mainly including five parts: theme,chord form,harmonic technique and tonality.The third chapter mainly discusses the neoclassicism style characteristics of the works in the texture.The fourth chapter mainly analyzes the music structure of the work.
