| With the economic globalization and the development of China’s economy,as an international universal language,English has become increasingly prominent.In 2011,the "Compulsory Education English Curriculum Standards(2011 Edition)" formulated by the Ministry of Education stated that students should learn English language knowledge,master basic listening,speaking,reading,and writing skills,and gradually develop the ability to communicate in English.It will further promote the development of students’ thinking ability,and lay a solid foundation for continuing to learn English in the future and learning other related scientific and cultural knowledge in English.This shows that our country pays more and more attention to spoken English.In actual teaching,"dumb English" has become a true portrayal of students ’English learning,which not only brings a lot of disadvantages to subsequent English learning,but also hinders students’ comprehensive development to a certain extent.With the increasing emphasis on oral English communicative competence,research on oral English communicative competence at home and abroad has gradually increased.The elementary stage is the basic stage of English learning,and it is the key period to improve oral English communicative competence.The factors that cause students’ weak English speaking ability include both personal factors and factors such as family and school.For primary school students,the influence of family factors on primary school students’ oral communicative competence is particularly prominent.The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between family background and primary school students’ oral English communicative competence.In this study,two primary schools in Zibo City were used as the survey object.401 valid questionnaires were collected using the questionnaire survey method.The data were analyzed using Excel and SPSS software to explore the impact of family background on the oral English communicative competence of primary school students.On the basis of combing relevant research literature and theories at home and abroad,the core concepts of this study are defined,and then the family structure,family socioeconomic status,family English cultural capital,family education ideas and methods,family process dynamic supervision and family relationship and 20 variables included in the family background of this study are determined.The study found that primary school students’ oral English communicative competence scores are significant differences in factors such as single /two-parent families,parental education,family income,mother’s English level,family extracurricular English collections,father’s interest in Western culture,parents’ English activities with you,family atmosphere and English Help for learning,parents’ expectation of oral performance,mother’s attention to oral learning,educationsupport provided by the family,mother’s supervision of students’ English activities,mother’s counseling of children’s oral English learning,mother’s accompanying children for English activities and parental relationships.Based on the research results,the author finds that maintaining a complete family structure and harmonious family relations is imminent;lack of family cultural capital is likely to adversely affect pupils’ oral English learning;family education concepts are unscientific and weak education awareness needs to be resolved;parents’ utilitarian tendencies is serious;the absence of the role of the father makes the dynamic supervision of the parental process evolve into the dynamic supervision of the mother process.Therefore,in order to improve the pupils’ oral English communicative competence,the author puts forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions on the existing problems.The role of family,school and teachers should be played well.In terms of family,establish a harmonious family relationship and fill the family with positive energy;create a good family cultural capital,and parental education is better than words;establish a correct educational concept and adopt a scientific way of parenting;parents should abandon utilitarianism and focus on children’s comprehensive abilities;Bent over to be a parent,refusing formal parents.In terms of schools and teachers,we must change the teaching concept and pay attention to the students’ oral English communicative competence;Schools should increase the support of oral English teaching;teachers should pay attention to self-development and active growth;Schools and teachers should strengthen home-school interaction to escort family education. |
