| Since the 20 th century,the endless exhibitions promoted world exchanges,Since the 20 th century,the endless array of major art exhibitions has promoted world exchanges,while also framing the framework of contemporary art and promoting the regional development of the venue.Contemporary art not only occurs in art museums and drives the construction and development of cities,but also occurs outside the White Cube and even in remote villages.As a creative force,contemporary art provides new ideas for cultural township construction and creates new possibilities,thereby making art a booster for township construction.Cultural township construction is the focus and hot topic of current Chinese society.The successful example of using contemporary art to promote rural development is the Echigo-Tsumari,also known as the Echichichi Triennial.The Echigo-Tsumari’s three-year exhibition is a three-year contemporary art festival,founded in 2000.In the usual biennial or triennial,each curator has different curators to plan different themes,but Echigo-Tsumari has always been curated by curator Kitagawa Furano himself.And implementation,the theme of the festival focuses on rural issues and the spatial and cultural significance of art’s involvement in the countryside.Artists from all over the world create and display their works on the 760 square kilometers of land.Most of these works are permanently retained by the Echigo-Tsumari,making this area a place worth visiting throughout the year.In this article,I will focus on the case of the chigoEchigo-Tsumari,from the perspective of culture and locality,and explore how contemporary art can help cultural township construction and how contemporary art can be combined with cultural township construction.Thereby promoting issues related to regional development.Admittedly,no methodology can be universally applicable,so the purpose of this article is not to find a universal method,but to sort out the feasibility and commonality of the fusion of contemporary art and the countryside with a successful case.Trying to restore the real context of the exhibition,and condensing the understanding of the Echigo-Tsumari ’s three-year exhibition from more angles.Contemporary art and cultural township construction is a summary of the author’s research on the three-year exhibition of Echigo-Tsumari,which not only embodies the practical significance of the exhibition,but also embodies the curator’s main ideas and concepts,and constitutes an important perspective of the research in this article. |
