Chopin can be called a milestone in the western romantic music,his themes stick to the history of Poland,the life of ordinary people and patriotic poetry.He is the first composer to apply ballade to piano in the history of music.With potential title,instrumental ballade is closely related to romantic poetry,it has a unique meaning.This paper analysis “g minor ballade”,explores the story connotation of the ballade,and aims at understanding and expressing it more accurately through the analysis of Chopin’s structure and performance of the ballade.There are four parts in this dissertation,the first part introduced Chopin’s art career.In addition,The second part shows the background of the ballads exhaustively and narrated the content of poems associated with ballads,and it also discussed the characteristics of the combination of romantic music and literary poetry.Meanwhile,The third part has summarized the work structure and the framework,it has analyzed the composer’s work construction from the internal rational aspect,and feels the ingenious idea of the work.Finaly,The fourth part is about the interpretation.The performance skills and the interpretation of external emotions has been analysed for understanding the author’s emotional or intellectual concern.
