Sergei vasilyevich rachmaninoff was an outstanding Russian pianist,composer and conductor in the 20 th century.His works are full of strong Russian color,melodious and melodious melodies and full of drama,is one of the great Russian romantic period musicians.He wrote many works in his life,and the sonata for cello and piano in g minor is the only one of his works for cello and piano,which is one of the best works in the world's treasure house of cello sonatas.This work is rich in color,the melody is long and changeable,the piano occupies a very important position,cello melodies complement each other,make the whole work is full of drama.Combined with the historical background and life of rachmaninoff,this paper discusses and analyzes the changeable melody trend of cello and piano in the first movement of this work,so as to provide reference for the majority of cello players.
