The three fantasies Op.16 is a work of German Jewish romantic piano composer Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdi(1809-1847)during his trip to Wales in 1829.Although this work is not his most famous,it has very distinct characteristics of Mendelssohn's piano creation,so the study of this work can help us to have a more accurate grasp and a more comprehensive understanding of his music style.This paper will be divided into three chapters on this Mendelssohn Piano Works for a more in-depth study.First of all,take the chapter of Mendelssohn's music creation and the development of Capriccio as the starting point,through this chapter,summarize Mendelssohn's overall creative style and trace back the formation and development history of Capriccio.Then,through the analysis of the creative characteristics of three piano fantasies Op.16,this chapter studies the musical structure,harmonic application and musical texture of Mendelssohn's works.Finally,based on the composing characteristics of Op.16,this paper interprets the three pieces of music in terms of timbre control,voice processing,speed selection,etc.,trying to analyze and summarize the technical difficulties and key points in performance.
