Police is a high-stress,high-load,high-risk profession.To research the status of the police job burnout,and job burnout,role stress,and the relationship between emotional intelligence,this study revised the role stress questionnaire,based on Rizzo’s Role Stress Questionnaire(1970),Ivarcevich & Matteson Role Load Scale(1980)translationed by Lin and Li Chaoping’s Role Stress Questionnaire.Then used the revised questionnaire,EIS emotional intelligence questionnaire revised by Wang Caikang and Chinese job burnout questionnaire compiled by Yongxin Li as the tools,measuring 332 Nanjing police,and the results show that :1.The revised "police role stress questionnaire" has two dimensions: role conflict and role load,with a total of 19 items.The reliability and validity are good,and the model fitting degree meets the standards.2.The scores of role stress and job burnout of the police group were higher and the scores of emotional intelligence were lower.Role stress,job burnout and emotional intelligence have significant differences in gender,age,police age,police type and rank.The scores of role stress and depersonalization of policemen were higher than that of policewomen.Police officers of different ages have different manifestations in emotion awareness and job burnout.The job achievement of police with21-25 years of working shows significant differences with others;The job achievement of patrolmen is significantly higher than that of household police;The burnout of police officers was significantly lower than that of police supervisors.3.The linear regression of role stress and emotional intelligence to job burnout is significant.More specifically,the linear regression of emotion awareness,role conflict and role load to emotional exhaustion is significant.The linear regression of emotion awareness,the use of emotion,emotion management,role conflict and role load to depersonalization is significant.4.The use of emotion plays a moderating role in the relationship between role stress and job burnout;Self-emotion management plays a moderating role in the relationship between role conflict and depersonalization.The main conclusions are as follows:1.The revised questionnaire of police role stress has a good reliability and validity,and can be used as a tool to measure police role stress.The measurement of role conflict and role load dimension is better.The measurement of the dimension of role ambiguity is not good.2.The pressure of the role of the police group is too high,the job burnout is too large,and the emotional intelligence is low.3.Role stress and emotional intelligence have a significant predictive effect on police job burnout,and role stress has the greatest effect on emotional exhaustion.4.Emotional intelligence plays a moderating role in the relationship between role stress and job burnout,and it shows both positive and negative effects.
