| As a common emotional experience in childhood, anxiety plays an important role in children’s development.Excessive anxiety easily leads to the formation of anxiety disorders, which causes many behavioral problems in children and seriously affects their mental health.Previous studies have shown that the style of family expressiveness is inextricably linked with children’s anxiety. At the same time, individuals with low emotional comprehension have a correspondingly higher level of general anxiety disorde. Therefore, this study attempts to explore the relationship between family disclosure, emotional understanding and children’s anxiety, and formulated corresponding intervention courses to explore whether picture book intervention can effectively promote the improvement of children’s emotional understanding, and provide basis for coping with children’s anxiety-related problems. This study consists of two parts.Study 1 used the Chinese version of the Family Emotional Expressiveness Questionnaire(FEQ),situational story assignments, and the Chinese version of the Spence Preschool Children Anxiety Scale(Parent Report)as the measurement tools to collectively measure the parents of 362 children aged 3–6years in a kindergarten in Qingyang County, and seperately measured the children to explore their family expressiveness, emotional understanding and anxiety, and the relationship among the three through data analysis.Based on the results of Study 1,Study 2 selected 62 children with high level of anxiety and negative expressiveness, for for 8-weeks of picture book intervention to explore the effect of picture book intervention,so as to improving children’s emotional understanding and provide references for coping with problems related to children’s anxiety. The results showed:(1)Children’s family expressiveness was at a medium level, among which positive family expressiveness was higher than negative family expressiveness, and there were significant differences in gender and parental education;children’s emotional understanding was at a medium level, and there were significant grade differences while gender difference was not obvious;children’s anxiety was at a moderately low level, and there was no significant difference in age and gender;(2)There was a positive correlation between negative expressiveness and children’s anxiety, and positive expressiveness is not significantly related to anxiety inchildren.Further analysis showed that positive domination is positively related to obsessive compulsive disorder. And there was no significant correlation between children’s emotional understanding and their anxiety, but there was a significant positive correlation between their emotional understanding,wish-based emotional understanding and belief-based emotional understanding and obsessive compulsive disorder;(3)Children’s emotional understanding had a significant moderating effect between positive expressiveness and children’s compulsive disorder, and a significant moderating effect between negative expressiveness and children’s general anxiety.Belief–based emotional understanding played a significant moderating role in family expressiveness and obsessive compulsive disorder;(4)The emotional understanding and each dimension of children in the intervention group were significantly higher than that in the control group, and their level of anxiety was also significantly reduced.Conclusions:(1)Family expressiveness can affect the level of anxiety of children. The more the negative expressiveness parents showed in the family, the higher the level of anxiety in children;the higher level of positive domination, the higher level of children’s obsessive compulsive disorder;(2)Children’s emotional understanding has little effect on their anxiety, but the higher their emotional understanding, the higher their level of obsessive compulsive disorder;(3)Children’s emotional understanding had a regulating effect between positive expressiveness and children’s obsessive compulsive disorder, and played a regulatingt role between negative expressiveness and young children’s general anxiety;belief–based emotional understanding played a regulating role in the influence of positive expressiveness on children’s obsessive compulsive disorder;(4)The picture book intervention aimed at children’s emotional understanding could effectively promote the development of their emotional understanding, and effectively reduce their anxiety level. |
