Research On The Supply Of Regional Public Goods In China's Neighboring Diplomacy

The theory of regional public goods provides a theoretical perspective for studying China's neighborhood diplomacy.As public goods theory evolves,people have begun to look at public goods from the perspective of international political economy.The “failure” of international public goods has led to a global increase of regional public goods.As theories of regional public goods gain more momentum thanks to practical development and academic research,they can provide strong theoretical support for studying regional public goods supply in China's neighborhood diplomacy.According to the theoretical framework of regional public goods and combined with the development and predicament of China's neighborhood diplomacy,the new vision of China's neighborhood diplomacy advocates supplying regional public goods,the theoretical logic behind which is that the characteristics of regional public goods can serve to remove obstacles in China's neighborhood diplomacy.Both regional public goods theory and China's experience of providing regional public goods since 1990 s make China change its mindset and policy and welcome other countries' hitchhiking.The development trajectory of Lancang-Mekong Cooperation and the attributes of public goods in this region further prove the leading role of regional public goods in resolving issues facing China's neighborhood diplomacy,and also demonstrate the innovation and characteristics of China's supply of regional public goods – “Lancang-Mekong Model”.Assessing regional public goods supplied by China in Lancang-Mekong Cooperation process has a lot to offer when it comes to providing public goods in other regions in China's neighborhood diplomacy.In view of the dilemma and existing experience of regional public goods supply in Lancang-Mekong Cooperation,and considering the priority of the surrounding areas for China's diplomatic layout in the new era,we must formulate a regional public goods strategy with Chinese characteristics in our supply purposes,fields and methods.Championing regional public goods strategy with Chinese characteristics means that we must enhance the quality and validity of China's supply of regional public goods at the strategic level,so as to bring about a good surrounding environment.
