Ausubel is a famous educational psychologist in the United States.The core part of his theory of learning is his interpretation of meaning learning.Ausubel believes that truly meaningful learning is the process by which learners use the existing cognitive structure to assimilate new knowledge.The most important factor influencing meaning learning is the students' existing knowledge.After three years of junior high school,high school students have a certain increase in historical knowledge reserves,and have a basic understanding of historical concepts.The level of cognition has improved,and students can make full use of the existing cognitive structure of students.Therefore,Meaning learning theory is more suitable for high school history teaching.Based on the overall discussion of Ausubel's theory of meaning learning,this paper puts forward some strategies for the teaching of high school history,that is,teaching should be good at stimulating students' inner learning motivation,and based on the students' original cognitive structure.Teaching,guiding and learning actively,and this paper also puts forward several suggestions based on the characteristics of high school history textbooks.Finally,this paper takes the teaching design of the Yuexi version of the compulsory "Opium War" as an example,and clarifies the specific application of the meaning learning theory in the teaching design.
