Research On The Current Marital Status Of The Floating Population Of Ethnic Minorities

In the past 40 years of reform and opening up,the flow of population has promoted the development of China's economy and the progress of society.The research on floating population has also become a key research-topic in China's Demographics and related disciplines.However,due to data reasons,the research methods used in the study of the impact of mobility on the development of ethnic minority groups in China and the harmonious development of ethnic relations are mostly qualitative analysis.Based on this data,this paper analyzes the marriage status of the floating population of ethnic minorities by combining quantitative and qualitative research such as statistical modeling and field research.Focus on the exogamy of the floating population of each ethnic group,and compare it with the exogamy of ethnic minorities during the sixth national census.For the first time,from the national level,the overall situation of exogamy among ethnic minorities in China was systematically studied.The study found the following.First,the marriage structure of ethnic minorities with different nationalities,genders,education levels and occupations varie greatly.On the one hand,the reason is that the age structure of the population has a greater impact on the analysis of the marriage structure.According to the restrictions of the monitored samples,62.20%of the floating population of ethnic minorities are concentrated in the age of 25-44;On the other hand,the flow of population has a positive and negative effect on the marriage of ethnic minority populations.The proportion of married people in different subgroups of the floating population is higher,but the proportion of divorced population is significantly different..Second,the flow of population has promoted the exogamy of ethnic minorities in China,increased the exogamy rate of the ethnic groups,and expanded the exogamy circle of each ethnic group.The exogamy rate of the floating population of ethnic minorities in 2015 was 4.12 percentage points higher than that of the national minority population at the time of the sixth census.Among the 17 ethnic minorities with a population of more than one million,the exogamy rate of the floating population of 16 ethnic groups is higher than the overall exogamy rate of the national population during the sixth census.The traditional exogamy of the 12 nationalities has changed.This is a new phenomenon in the exogamy of ethnic minorities in China and is of great significance to the harmonious development of ethnic relations.Third,there are significant gender differences in exogamy among floating populations of ethnic minorities.The exogamy rate of female migrants is higher than that of males,and the effect of population mobility on female exogamy is greater than that of males.In 2015,among the floating population of ethnic minorities in China,the exogamy rate of women was 5.51 percentage points higher than that of men;compared with the conclusion of the sixth census,the exogamy rate of ethnic male and female migrants increased,and the exogamy rate of women is higher than that of men.Fourth,to improve the education level of ethnic minorities in ethnic minority areas,it has a positive role in promoting minority population mobility and exogamy.The results of Logistic Regression Model show that the education level of ethnic minority migrants is one of the main factors of exogamy,and the degree of education and the exogamy rate are positively correlated.The improvement of the level of education has led to the expansion of social exchange circles for ethnic minorities,and it is easy to break through the traditional concept of marriage and promote exogamy.
