Geography experiment is one of the important ways of geography teaching,which is helpful for teachers to organize teaching,students to master knowledge,develop intelligence,form geography skills and manipulative ability and enhance creativity.In the world,our country concentrated on the design of geography experiments for a long time,foreign geography experiments' study starts much earlier.Taking the United States as an example,its emphasis on geography experiments has been fully reflected in textbooks.Textbook as a prerequisite and reliable basis for geography experiment teaching is an important support for teachers to carry out teaching.By studying the geography experiment part of American high school textbooks,it is found that the whole series of books of American high school geography textbooks show the characteristics of spiral rise from the whole to the part,in the arrangement of experimental types,the design of experimental processing steps,and the choice of action verbs in experimental tasks,and so on.In the past,most of the literature on geography experiment in American high school textbooks only focused on the characteristics,functions,types and practical significance of geography experiment in textbooks,and few studies combined pedagogy theory with geography experimental system in textbooks.In this paper,based on the cognitive process dimension division based on the revised Bloom's educational goal classification theory,the three dimensions of experimental types,experimental processing steps and experimental tasks based on behavioral verbs are analyzed.First of all,it is clear that the significance of studying textbook geography experimental design is to provide reference experience and ideas for the experimental design of senior high school geography textbooks in China,and to promote the students' geography practice ability and teaching quality.Secondly,we choose the special cases of American high school geography textbook experimental types,experimental processing steps and experimental tasks,and summarize the characteristics and rules of American high school geography experimental design under each dimension.Finally,in terms of the features and regularity of the American high school geography textbook experimetal types arrangement,experimental program design,experimental tasks behavior verb's selection,it is concluded that textbook geography experimental design needs to take into account students' behavior participation and cognitive participation.
