With the improvement of China's overall national strength,China's role on the world stage has become increasingly important. However, cultural soft power and backward communication power that do not match China's super economic status,China has no right to speak on the world stage, and China's image is always smeared by mainstream Western media. In order to get rid of this dilemma,President Xi Jinping proposed to "tell the Chinese story" to the international community. The news media is an important part of this subject.Without any previous experience for reference, the "Second Thought" column of China Daily relies on its broad horizons and innovative thinking. The reported works have had an important influence in the world media and shaped a good image of China. This article will use the theory of narratology to analyze the content of the selected columns, hoping to reveal the inherent rules of success of some columns. The main body of this article is divided into five parts. The first three parts explore the unique narrative elements and structure of the column content by analyzing the structure of the classic narratology from the perspective of the narrator, the narrative elements and the narrative structure.Places and such uniqueness are important for telling Chinese stories outwards. The first chapter analyzes from the perspective of the narrator that the author of the "Second Thought" column strengthens the professionalism of the work from the narrator through a variety of personalities, reliable narrators, and the identity of "cross-cultural people" in reality.Sex and credibility. The second chapter analyzes that the column works presents rich narrative works through the arrangement of narrative elements such as multiple focus, flexible timing, detailed and appropriate length, and cross-space narrative space. The third chapter summarizes the column works using vertical linear, horizontal spatial and Wall Street Journal narrative structures to develop applicable stories. The fourth part of the thesis is to follow the development trend ofnarratology from classic narratology to post-classical narratology. From the perspective of narrative reading, that is,from the perspective of readers, analyze the reasons why the works of the "Second Thought" column are acceptable to readers: The first is that from the reader's point of view, the works of the column are always used to remove the obstacles between different cultures by using short and exquisite graphic forms, rhetoric of analogy, and interpretation of meta-narrative meta-narratives,so as to achieve the narrative works.Legibility, and the second is that the column works through contrast and anthropomorphic rhetoric enhance the dramatic conflict and emotionality of the work, thereby achieving the readability of the narrative works. The last chapter of the article summarizes the narrative strategy of this column in the process of external communication: firstly,to introduce a civilian perspective on reporting, secondly to enhance the story of the work, and thirdly,to find effective connection channels and use of affectionate communication In order to attract readers, the fourth is to show the objectiveness and balance of the report through the "other-self" narrative method and the two-sided communication techniques.I hope that these communication strategies can provide some funding for China's future external journalism.Enlightenment and experience for reference. In this way,the Chinese story can be better told to the world, the world can better understand China, and strengthen China's right to speak on the world stage.
