Abstract/Summary:
In the past, researchers have placed their emphases on the history and geology of Saskatchewan's Qu'Appelle River Valley. Consequently, slope failures within the valley have not been geomorphically mapped. However, such geomorphic mapping is valuable because it complements previous research on the valley, and provides a methodology for other geomorphic studies. This thesis presents geomorphic maps for three slope failure sites within a segment of the Qu'Appelle River Valley. After field surveying, topographic data of each site was entered into a database from which digital elevation models (DEMs) were developed. A geomorphic map legend was created from a variety of symbols found in the literature, along with some specifically designed for this thesis. The legend was integrated with the DEMs to generate geomorphic maps representing the topography of each study site. These may be particularly useful in identifying potential slope failures elsewhere within the valley.
