This capstone paper will identify and evaluate vulnerabilities to global critical infrastructures. To accomplish this, a brief history of intelligence and cybercrime will be discussed with an evaluation of how these topics affect operations at corporations, government agencies, and overall throughout society. The topic of cyber warfare covers more than just a virus downloaded from an email, this topic deals with computer networks that manage our critical infrastructures: control systems, airports, hospitals, rail roads, power stations, and nuclear facilities. What is needed is to look at best practices and safeguards that protect networks from being compromised-and the laws that prosecute cyber criminals across the borders. Lack of coordination addressing intelligence issues, as well as the diversified and boundary free nature of the internet, allows cyber criminals to build infrastructure and host servers in countries with no cyber laws, while they operate in another country. Advancing technology, and securing the exchange of digital information, will help protect against operational continuity, malware, spam, threats, leaks, and personal information from being accessed.
